University of Bristol Alumni Reunion Brings Warmth and Nostalgia to Calcutta

 

The spirit of camaraderie and shared memories came alive as the University of Bristol Alumni hosted their first-ever reunion in Calcutta, in collaboration with IBSA. The event was held the University’s Global Gatherings Initiative — a worldwide celebration spanning six continents and 36 destinations.

 

Bristol graduates, along with their families, gathered for an evening filled with laughter, nostalgia, and renewed connections. The event created a vibrant space for alumni from various UK universities to share their journeys and relive their cherished days abroad.

 

Each conversation added to the ever-growing tapestry of “Bengal to Bristol stories” — reflections of ambition, friendship, and shared heritage that continue to inspire across generations.

 

Dr. Rizwan Javed, organiser of the event and Chair of the Youth Council of IBSA, expressed his delight:

“It was immensely gratifying to bring people together and celebrate our shared Commonwealth bonds.”

 

The evening was made even more special by the venue — The Backyard Kolkata, a lovingly curated haven by Sinaya Azhar Khan, designed to nurture inclusivity, creativity, and community spirit.
