Book Launch of The Career Edge By Kaushik Mitra

On 15th November 2025, IBSA in collaboration with Ahava Communications and Penguin Books India celebrated the book launch of The Career Edge: The Unwritten Rules of Success by Kaushik Mitra, VP and CFO of PepsiCo India and South Asia. A seasoned global business leader with three decades of rich experience, Kaushik urges us to think of a career in corporate as a marathon rather than a sprint. In an anecdotal style, he demystifies the complexities of the corporate world as he offers valuable insights across three pivotal areas of self-development, collaboration and building resilience to deliver results. An interesting idea he touches upon in his book is “Shoshin”- rooted in Buddhist teaching, which translates to a “beginners mind”. Kaushik urges one to approach life with an open mind, unbridled curiosity, making space for growth, embracing change and new perspectives.
The book launch included an esteemed panel of Kaushik Brahma, Head of Corporate Administration from Tata Steel who shared sharp perspectives on workplace culture. Reetasri Ghosh, IBSA President and leadership facilitator who spoke about the importance of “Shoshin” and continuous self-growth. Joydeep Datta Gupta, Independent Director and former Deloitte Partner offered grounded insights drawn from his long career. Moderator Beth Caldwell, founder of Take Two Coaching, kept the conversation flowing with clarity and warmth. As Guest of Honour, Dr. Andrew Fleming, British Deputy High Commissioner to East and Northeast India, delivered opening remarks which set a thoughtful and inspiring tone. It was a memorable evening that was insightful and engaging, reminding everyone how resilience, adaptability, learning agility along with “employeeship” is important to navigate corporate careers.
