Frozen Wild at the British Club!

We were thrilled to host the incredible Dr. Somdutt Prasad—renowned wildlife photographer—for an unforgettable evening celebrating Wildlife Photography and Our Living Planet. His breathtaking images and powerful stories transported us into the heart of nature, reminding us of the beauty and urgency of conservation.

 

From majestic polar bears in Norway to tigers in Ranthambore, Dr. Prasad’s lens captured the soul of the wild. The highlight  of the event was a fireside chat between Amit Sengupta, Chair, Media Council, IBSA and Dr. Prasad. The fireside chat between the two shone spotlight on Dr. Prasad’s passion behind photographing the wild, challenges and behind the scenes in the life of a photographer, storytelling and ethics, sustainable travel, equipment and gears for wildlife photography amongst other.

 

Earlier in the programme, Dr. Andrew Fleming, British Deputy High Commissioner to East and Northeast India highlighted the urgent need for wildlife and nature conservation. He spoke about UK Government’s initiatives in tackling plastic pollution.

 

Simon Hill, President, Royal Photographic Society, UK spoke about the mission of RPS in raising awareness of the wildlife conservation through visual storytelling.

 

Subrata Paul, Chair, Presidents Council, IBSA handed over a potted plant to Dr. Fleming, Dr. Prasad and Simon Hill.

 

Dr. Nandini Ray, Chair, Program Council, IBSA introduced Dr. Somdutt Prasad and his repertoire of wildlife images. Saptarshi Kar, Secretary, IBSA delivered the vote of thanks.

 

The session sparked meaningful conversations and left us all inspired to see the world with renewed wonder and responsibility.
