On 16 November 2024, IBSA, in collaboration with the British Council Library in Kolkata, hosted a Scrabble game event that saw an enthusiastic turnout of IBSA members and British Council patrons, marking a new milestone in IBSA’s calendar of events. The event commenced with a warm welcome from Dr. Nandini Ray, Chair of Programs Council who acknowledged the pivotal roles played by Akriti Jhunjhunwala IBSA member and Praveena Ireland, senior Librarian of British Council in organising this fun yet competitive evening.

Participants skillfully navigated the world of letters and strategy, with impressive performances and high scores throughout the tournament. Congratulations to Reetasri Ghosh, Vice President IBSA and Arpan Banerjee, Chair of Membership and members Ritushree Guha, Sujata Barat for lifting trophies. The winners were felicitated by Amitabha Ghose senior Executive Committee member and Kanishka Kumar, IBSA Programs Co-Chair.

A huge round of applause went to Akriti Jhunjhunwala and her husband Vishesh Agarwal’s company Goldex Pens for sponsoring the thoughtful prizes and trophies. With high energy and meticulous organisation, this Scrabble event will hold an annual place in the IBSA and British Council calendar going forward.
