IBSA organised a panel discussion on ‘India @75 : Agenda for Change’ at The Bengal Club, Kolkata on 14 August, 2023.

The panel included Mr. Krishnan Srinivasan, Former Foreign Secretary and Commonwealth Deputy Secretary-General, Prof. Anuradha Lohia, Former Vice Chancellor, Presidency University, Mr. Shiv Siddhant Kaul, Managing Director – Nicco Engineering Services Ltd. and Chairman CII Eastern Region, Mr. Vikramjit Banerjee, Senior Advocate and Additional Solicitor General, Government of India & Prof. Nirmalya Kumar, Professor of Marketing, Singapore Management University.

The panel discussion was moderated by Prof. Suman Mukerjee, Director General, Bhawanipur Education Society.

His Excellency Mr. Alex Ellis, British High Commissioner to India as Chief Guest for this event delivered a special address.

Discussions centred around India’s economic and industrial environment, the pace of reforms in India’s education sector particularly primary education, the urgent need for employment generation and upskilling,  the state of regulation and justice delivery and India’s place in the world order and aspirations of being a major power.
